On May 28, 2026, the defense session for the "2026 Academic Innovation Capability Enhancement Program for Outstanding Doctoral Students" of East China Normal University was held in the Administration Building. Among them, the project "Research on Large Model-Driven Directional Segmentation and Structured Modeling of Urban Road Element Point Clouds" applied for by Liu Bin (Supervisor: Ma Lingfei), a 2025 doctoral student majoring in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems in our college, was approved at the university level. As an important measure for the university to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the National Graduate Education Conference, the "Excellent Doctoral Students' Academic Innovation Capability Enhancement Program" of East China Normal University revolves around the university's reform tasks for excellence in education, focuses on the goal of cultivating outstanding talents, and targets the global frontiers of science and technology as well as major national needs. It explores a new paradigm for excellence in graduate education, targeting excellent doctoral students with a solid research foundation, outstanding academic potential, and research topics aligned with major strategic needs and disciplinary frontiers, as well as feasible research plans.
